For those of you that follow security threats, it should be known that Milw0rm, a long time trusted source of hacker news and a major sources of proof of concept (PoC) exploits for penetration testing and black hats, has shut down. The site has been hosted for many years by str0ke.
Milw0rm was originally a hacker group who gained fame in the community worldwide when they compromised India's Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Bombay and gaining administrative access (root) on multiple systems in 1998. During their politically motivated compromise they gained confidential military data, including classified documents such as nuclear test information.
Miw0rm was most valued and considered a trusted source for exploit code due to str0ke's active testing of every exploit posted on the site. In the end, this is also the reason he could no longer continue the sites work after no longer having the time for such an effort.
Vault Ecommerce performs daily ongoing security threat research. This includes research identifying which vulnerabilities have readily available exploits "in the wild" vs. academic research only. If you have questions regarding this research and how to access it through the Vault Security Intel Portal, feel free to contact us at service@vaultecommerce.com.
